Below is just a handfull of feedback received from our guests.
My friends and I had a great time staying at Paul and Kelly's place. We really appreciated how accommodating they were. We loved the farm setting, the cosy rooms and the views. Totally worth the steep climb up from Inversnaid!
2nd year for us at this fabulous place. Great hosts and lovely food. Stayed for a couple of days this time so could explore the area a little more. We'll be back again!
Staying at the Garrison is an absolutely amazing and totally unique experience - 100% a must-visit. Kelly and Paul are the most welcoming and friendly hosts - they made us feel completely at home during our visit; Kelly gave us a tour of the farm, introduced us to all their lovely animals and had loads of fascinating stories about the Garrison's history to share with us. The accommodation itself is just lovely - the cleanest, tidiest and most homely B&B we have ever stayed in! Super comfy beds, fantastic views and loads of personal touches make the rooms feel extra-special. Food at the Garrison is also gorgeous; breakfast brought to our room (which made us feel really well looked after!) was made even more special by the fact that everything served was home-reared.
One of the best things about our visit was learning about the home-rearing process and seeing how much time, consideration and sheer effort goes into caring for the farm animals also in residence at the Garrison - all the animals are downright adorable and resistance to their charm is futile. The Garrison's location is the perfect place to immerse yourself in rural Scotland's rugged, magnificent landscape - Loch Arklet, Loch Katrine and Loch Lomond are all in easy walking distance and each is spectacular. We're avid walkers/hikers and found the climbs and walks in and around the Garrison (which Kelly and Paul gave us lots of tips and helpful suggestions for) offered the most awe-inspiring views - Scotland doesn't get better than the Garrison of Inversnaid. A lot of care, thought and passion has gone into making a stay at the Garrison an unforgettable experience - one which we will definitely be driving back to Scotland to repeat soon! Thank you again Kelly and Paul for a fantastic stay!
We had a wonderful time with Paul and Kelly. They showed our children how they run the farm, we ate terrific home-grown food every evening, and bathed in the hot tub at night under the stars. We ended our three days relaxed and recuperated with great memories of the stay. If you're into fitness there is a perfect garrison path down from the farm to the awesome Loch Katrine, where the road surface is perfect for road biking or walking and the views spectacular.
We recently stayed at the Garrison for 4 nights and if I could give more than 5 stars I would! This place is fantastic. Kelly and Paul who own the Garrison and run the farm, really do go above and beyond for their guests! They gave us a full farm tour, which was so interesting and we got to meet all the lovely animals which was a highlight for me. We prebooked breakfast before arrival, and also booked dinner for two nights when we were there. And let me tell you, this is no ordinary food you get served! Its homemade with nearly everything I would say coming from their own farm, and you can really taste the difference.
The accomodation is clean and cosy with some of the best views you will ever get! During our stay, we explored Loch Lochmond, Loch Katherine, Glasgow and Stirling and did a tour of Stirling Castle! We are planning to go back in the summer, so we can go mountain biking and Kayaking and just explore the wonderful area even more! There really is something to do for everyone, and a stay with Kelly and Paul is a must when visiting Scotland!
We only stopped by for a few hours (we were in a motorhome - nearest overnight camping is at the cafe on Loch Katrine, which we also highly recommend as a free camp spot) but we had the opportunity to meet one of the owners and she was super nice and helpful. She told us about the location and even gave us some delicious brownies as a parting gift.
If the rest of the cooking is anywhere near as good then the food must be tremendous. It looked like a great place to enjoy beautiful scenery and a traditional small farm. We plan on actually staying here next time we are in Scotland.
Off the beaten track and situated amidst some fabulous scenery. We felt as if we were away from it all and could really relax here. The breakfast was delivered to our door by our host - all locally-sourced ingredients. We also had the option to pre-order dinner but didn't...we really wish we had as again all ingredients are locally sourced and, judging by the comments in the visitors' book, well-worth it.
Our host was friendly, welcoming and knowlegeable. As we were heading up to Oban the following day we were given the option of using the private road round Lake Katrine which was beautiful.
Kelly made sure she looked after anything we could possibly want for and went well beyond the call of duty to take care of us. Really lovely and friendly which made this a definite place to revisit!
A beautiful combination of stunning Scottish scenery and home made food (the breads amazing)
The rooms are modern, clean and well equipped. Plenty of heating for wet hiking cloths, wall hung TVs and a kitchen.
You can have lunch, breakfast and dinner here all locally sourced. Really can't speak highly enough of this place. 5 Star!
It's lovely here. The owners are so friendly and very obliging. They washed our laundry and the dinner was delicious (better than a 5 star cuisine and by the way the salad, carrots and potatoes were all self grown, what is absolutely incredible). We highly recommend this B&B!
